Spotlight on PGA Director of Golf, Kevin Edwards

We had a chance to catch up with our Director of Golf, Kevin Edwards, and talk to him about his golf experience, and how his expertise helps us bring the very best to you right here in New Tripoli. We’ve summarized some of our conversation with him in the post below. The next time you’re at the course, stop in and say hi to Kevin.

An early start led to a lifelong passion

Kevin began golfing when he was just 11 years old, and the dedication to improving at the sport earned him the opportunity to play at the college level at Moravian University. Over the years, he’s honed his skills and enjoys sharing his love of the sport with others.

His simple advice for those just taking up the game is, “don’t overthink and swing easy”. You can always come in and have a conversation with him if you want to get some more advice, as he’s been working at Olde Homestead for 6 years now. Having something different to do every day is one of the best parts of his job and he enjoys meeting new people.

Being a PGA Director at Olde Homestead Golf Club, Kevin was able to bring the club’s passion and knowledge of golf to another level.  The Professional Golf Association (PGA) is an organization that was formed in the United States in 1916. Rodman Wanamaker, a Philadelphia businessman, formed this organization to promote interest in professional golf. With this organization, he was able to elevate the game and increase the welfare of its members. Its annual PGA Championship is one of the world’s four major golf tournaments. Other PGA organizations were founded during this time, including the PGA in Canada and the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA).

Here to help!

Through Kevin’s years here, he has taught many golf lessons and helped the golf shop expand. His expertise and experience guided the creation of many wonderful and impactful classes, and his passion has helped the golf shop tremendously. Kevin has even won several awards for the tremendous sales he has had over the past year. Olde Homestead Golf Club is grateful to have Kevin Edwards be a part of the team for his valuable knowledge, impactful expertise, and passion for teaching the next generation of golfers.

Next time you are here, stop by to say hi to Kevin, and stick around for lunch at the Conestoga Cafe. He recommends his favorite menu item, the cheesesteak. Why not book a tee time today?
