 Fall 2013  "The Bungalow Hole"

"The golf course property has been in my family for 250 years and my grandfather used the bungalow for his wagon train. People could stay there for a weekend, hook their horses up to it and then be on their way. There are a lot of buildings on the property we wanted to keep and we just planned around them when designing the course, says Olde Homestead general manager Justin Smith."

August 20, 2013  "Local courses get creative in prodding golfers to play faster"

"Normally, the New Tripoli course sets its 18-hole pace of play at 4 hours, 30 minutes. But every Friday through the fall, Olde Homestead will ask players to shave a half hour from that time. The course calls it "Fast Fridays," and it hopes to prod golfers to play just a little bit quicker. "We explain it when people call for tee times, and they say 'Great, we hope you enforce it,'" says Justin Smith, general manager at Olde Homestead."
