The Center for Animal Health & Welfare is a private organization and is not affiliated with any other SPCA of ASPCA. As such, the Center is not a government agency and is entirely non-profit, relying on fundraising, donations and bequests for over 90% of its income. The Center has a 501(c)3 status.

The Center for Animal Health & Welfare is a NO-KILL shelter, this making the statement above all the more profound. The Center never euthanizes an animal for lack of space. The Center does not turn away animals and provides for them in every way possible. Some of the duties the Center performs are:
  • Adoption
  • Lost & Found Services
  • Investigations of Cruelty, Neglect and Abuse
  • Spay and Neuter Programs
  • Humane Education Programs in the Community and Schools
  • Network of Foster Families
  • Aggression Training
  • Relinquishment and Re-Homing Services
