Welcome to the Party for Poppa K Website!
Founded in 2004, Party for Poppa K is an annual charity golf tournament I started in memory of my father, "Poppa K," who passed away from cancer earlier that year. The proceeds from this tournament help support the special programs Diakon Hospice Saint John provides to its patients and their families during the most trying stages of life. I started the event to bring people together to celebrate life and make something positive out of a tragedy, and our slogan, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!" embodies that very mission.This year will be our third year as a charity golf tournament, and I'm excited to announce the following "upgrades" for 2012:
1.) ONLINE REGISTRATION AND DONATIONS. For the very first time, you can now register for or donate to Party for Poppa K via credit card on this website.
2.) NEW VENUE. In 2012, Party for Poppa K's new home will be at Olde Homestead Golf Club (just north of Allentown, PA) which is ranked among the top 10 public courses in Pennsylvania.
In our first year as a golf tournament, we raised $2,500. In our second year, we doubled that and raised $5,000. In 2012, our goal is to double our fundraising again and raise $10,000!
